The Challenge

The client’s business model needs explaining - and that is exactly where the old website failed. This is not about donations but sponsorship: companies fund the collection of plastic from rivers and receive certificates for the volume stopped, purchasable per kilogram in the shop.

Anyone who does not grasp that within a few seconds bounces. The old site gave the impression of a classic environmental organisation rather than an impact company with a purchasable product. On top of that, website and shop sat apart, with a visible break in the purchase flow.

Our Approach

Implementation from agency designs. The visual design came from a design agency. Our task was the technical implementation - and translating those designs so they hold up in every state, not just on the artboard.

Headless shop instead of shop website. The commerce system supplies products, pricing and checkout, while presentation lives entirely in the new frontend. That allows the certificate purchase to sit where the argument supports it - right alongside the explanation of the model, rather than in a separated shop area.

Structure for two audiences. The site serves corporate customers interested in sponsorship and private individuals making single purchases. Both paths lead to the same product but need different reasoning and entry points.

Mobile first. The majority of traffic arrives via social media on a phone. The conversion path was therefore designed for small screens first.

The Results

The new presence conveys the impact model in a way that lands within seconds - and leads from understanding straight to purchase, without the previous break between website and shop.

For a team of three full-time staff in Germany, it is equally decisive that content can be maintained without developer involvement. The system is built for exactly that.
