To achieve this, Jua drew on a powerful arsenal of front-end tools, including TypeScript and Tailwind CSS to bring logic to life in the browser and to build dynamic, interactive user interfaces.

Being chosen from a competitive pool of international applicants (often 10 or more vying for each project) is a prestigious achievement that highlights her talent and dedication. During her May–August 2024 internship with ODK-X (an open-source data management tool for collecting and using data in resource-constrained environments), Jua worked as a front-end developer and enhanced the user interface and user experience of the ODK-X application. She implemented design guidelines to ensure the app’s design remained consistent and user-friendly, writing clean front-end code and improving the software’s overall usability. This experience not only benefited the ODK-X community by making the tool easier to use, but also helped Jua deepen her front-end development skills. She gained hands-on experience in UI/UX design and learned to apply industry-standard best practices in coding through this real-world open-source project.
